Worked ceiling for a German address
Ceiling US$120.00, two heavier pieces to Germany. Our planning weight is 1100 g a piece, so with 150 g of carton the parcel is 2,350 g. The cheapest general-goods quote to Germany for that weight comes to US$48.71; with the heavy handling charge the freight checkout is US$52.46. That leaves US$67.54 for the goods checkout, and after handling US$62.89 of goods money, which is ¥419.47.
Take off ¥8.00 of seller postage and divide by 2: each piece can carry a sticker of up to ¥205.74. With no handling charge at all it would be ¥233.75; plan on the middle of the quoted lines instead of the cheapest and it drops to ¥168.87. That spread, roughly a fifth, is why the finder lets you choose both.

Try your own numbers in the Headroom finder, or compare with the other floors on the Spreadsheet page.
Where money slips away on the second floor
Things get heavy here, and freight starts to rival the goods.
- Weight. A pair of leather boots in its box is about 1.3 kg by our planning figure; the cowhide tote is listed at 1,000 g. In the worked German ceiling below, the freight checkout for two pieces takes more than two-fifths of the ceiling.
- Size weight. Coats and boot boxes are bulky. If the line bills by size rather than scale weight, the same parcel costs more. The parcels page shows two packings of the same pair of hoodies.
- Special goods. The projector has a mains plug, and electronics need a line that accepts them. Fewer lines means a dearer cheapest line.
